Honourable Members of Parliament,

Four days after the murder of Cuban prisoner of conscience Wilmar Villar, we would expect some kind of official statement coming from our government. Even though that would not change the fact that Canada remains the main business partner of the Castro’s clan, it would be nice to hear that the government of Canada cares about human rights and supports freedom.

Wouldn't it be great if our federal government finally take some meaningful steps to be a moral leader in the Americas? On the other hand, what good does it make for Canadian taxpayers to fund a ministry of foreign affairs packed with analysts and all sorts of experts, if these can't even persuade our leaders to publicly identify tyrants by name?

No matter how long it takes, Cuba will eventually be free. Whenever that moment comes, with it will go Cubans gratitude to those who, in faraway corners of the earth like Poland, Lithuania, Czech Republic or Hungary didn't mince words to stand up for freedom on behalf of the people of Cuba. Likewise, shame will come upon those who, despite having all the resources and opportunities, chose to remain silent.

Among the Key Objectives of Canada's Foreign Policy is the projection of Canadian values and culture in the world by promoting universal respect for human rights, the development of participatory government and stable institutions, the rule of law...Therefore, we all know how essential it is to count with strong and unequivocal voices of support when they are really needed. The time for Canada to support a free Cuba is long overdue.

Canada’s dilemma on Cuba

The recent release of Dr. Oscar Biscet and the two remaining prisoners of conscience from Cuban jails could mark a turning point in the recent history of Cuba.

Detained during the “Black Spring” of March 2003, Dr. Biscet and 74 other members of the opposition movement, were considered as prisoners of conscience by Amnesty International, drawing international condemnations, including a common European Union stance against Castro’s regime.

Carefully planned to decapitate Cuba’s growing opposition movement, at a time when the world’s attention was diverted to the outset of the Iraq war, the now infamous crackdown saw dozens of journalists, librarians and human rights activists rounded up, summarily tried and sentenced for up to 28 years in jail.

In Cuba, as is always the case in communist countries, the flow of information is totally controlled by the government. That is more or less the case for locally based foreign media, aware that whatever is reported to their home countries, is closely scrutinized by Cuban censors. However, this time around, the charges of “agents of the USA” on which Dr. Biscet and the rest of the activists were sentenced, somehow didn’t find the usual indifference that the cause of freedom in Cuba normally faces.

Dr. Biscet, a 49-year old medical doctor, has been nominated for the Nobel Peace Prize by the Prime Minister of Hungary, members of the United States Congress, members of the European Parliament, members of the British House of Lords and members of the Parliament of Canada. Their open letters to the Norwegian Committee (Canadian MP’s requested that their identities not be publicized) outlined the importance of honouring Dr. Biscet, a human rights defender of universal stature, as a way of recognizing his selfless struggle for human dignity.
Dr. Biscet’s story of opposition started earlier in the 80’s, but it wasn’t until 1997 that he really got in the nerves of the government (see lawtonfoundation.com for further reference) by conducting a clandestine ten month research study at the Hijas de Galicia Hospital documenting unofficial statistical data on abortion techniques. During this study, many Cuban mothers testified that their newborn babies were killed right after birth, a common practice in hospitals throughout the island. The research study "Rivanol: A Method to Destroy Life," was officially delivered to the Cuban government in June 9, 1998, along with a letter addressed to Fidel Castro accusing the Cuban National Health System of genocide. Needless to say, that was the end not only of his medical career, but also his wife’s as a nurse.
His mere nomination pulverizes the ostracism in which the regime tries to subjugate Cuban dissidents. Further from the regular beatings and the subhuman conditions suffered by Cuban prisoners of conscience, the psychological tortures inflicted upon these men and women include prolonged periods of solitary confinement, the prohibition of literature within the cells and forced separation from their families. The main goal of these tortures is breaking their spirit, and a frequent script used by interrogators and jailers goes: “while you rot in here, life continues outside; and the fact is that in the so called free world, nobody cares whether you live or die.”

By recognizing Dr. Biscet’s struggle, the opposition movement gains the legitimacy that most in the free world have exclusively granted to the regime. Through Dr. Biscet, an embrace of solidarity goes to a whole nation that up to now was accustomed to a world audience mesmerized by the charms of a despot.

Canada’s role

Canada has consistently been a major facilitator of Cuba’ regime survival ever since the collapse of the Soviet Union. When it comes to liquidity contribution via trade, investment and tourism, Canada leads the world by providing the cash that the Castro family desperately needs to stay in power. This is the pattern regardless of which party gathers most of the seats in Parliament Hill.

The apparent secret covenant between Canada and the regime, which is common knowledge among human rights activists in Cuba, has also damaged Canada’s reputation internationally. A Toronto Star article published on December 17, 2010, refers that “Canada is one of several countries that has stopped pressuring Cuba on human rights to gain business favours from Havana, according to confidential U.S. diplomatic cables released by WikiLeaks”.

With critical events unfolding sooner rather than later, perhaps is about time to realize that turning the back on the people of Cuba and failing to openly denounce this human tragedy will eventually backfire. Canadians should question the risks of dealing with the worst tyranny ever to take hold on the western hemisphere for two reasons:
· Its practicality if the explosive socio-economic context is considered
· The long-term moral consequence of wittingly contributing to prop up a criminal regime in the heart of the Americas.

Era aproximadamente entre las 12 y la 1 de la madrugada. Estábamos Mario Guerra, Guillermo Funes y yo arreglando una máquina propiedad de Chacho y Castillo; en eso llegó El Guardián (Argelio Domínguez), como siempre cómico y dicharachero sin saber que yo le había hecho una broma, cagándome en la puerta de su casa.

Sin saber aun lo que le esperaba nos saludó: “La gente de Titigua”, yo le contesté: “La gente del marañón”, y prosiguió: “Vengo de ver a mi novia, y me he comido allá tremendo arroz con pollo. Qué maravilla!!

Yo me dije: “te vas a cagar en tu madre cuando llegues a la casa”. Cuando fue a entrar y tropezó con la mierda se puso mulo bufando. Le dije “Marañón, qué te pasa” y me dijo: ¡que se han cagao en mi puerta y me he cubierto los pies de mierda; pero a ese cabrón lo voy a vigilar y le voy a cortar el culo con mi chaveta (él era zapatero)
Al día siguiente se me ocurrió escribir los siguientes versos:

“El Guardián y el Mojón”:
el Guardián llegó contento
y enfadado se acostó
porque un poco de excremento
en la puerta se encontró.

Cogió la escoba y furioso
ni una huella dejó
salió con rabia buscando
el culo que allí cagó.

Me voy a poner a velar
desde en casa del vecino
que si este vuelve a cagar
Oiga; le corto el fonino.

Cuando la poesía del Guardián fue leída en un acto cultural, esta provocó una ovación en el público. Un señor llamado Cecilio Salinas que tenía una venduta en el barrio, y en cuya casa las paredes de la cocina eran de saco de yute pintados con lechada de cal, me pidió que le regalara los versos para ponerlos en su venduta. Pero ya al regreso del acto cultural había hablado con el Guardián que se le había pasado la bronca, y le confesé: fui yo quien se cagó, y aquí tienes la poesía. “So cabrón yo sabía que el jodedor había sido de cerca. Pero regálamela para ponerla en la zapatería”.Es tuya, le dije, y se la entregué.
A Don Cecilio le dije que le haría una para su venduta y me inspiré:

Una tienda, y hay tabacos
Y allá en su casa tiene
Una cocina de sacos.

“Mi abuelo Fengue, su sinsonte y el gato”
El era comerciante, tenía, entre otros negocios una bodega frente a la casa. A las doce en punto cerraba para almorzar.
Abuelita ponía la mesa para toda la familia, porque a esa hora mis tíos llegaban de la finca para almorzar todos juntos. Era como un ritual; hasta que abuelo no presidía la mesa nadie se sentaba.
Lo primero que él hacía diariamente era alimentar al sinsonte con unas bolitas de papa y huevos duros, todo mezclado con cierta consistencia. Mientras le introducía las bolitas le iba chiflando el Himno Nacional. Estaba orgulloso porque el pajarito ya lo cantaba hasta la primera estrofa.
Ese día abuelo llegó y lo primero que hizo fue, como siempre, ir por la comida del pájaro. Nadie hablaba, abuelita, también muda. No había ni huevos ni papas. Él no había entendido nada.
Se encaminó hacia la jaula y estaba abierta. Miró inquisitivamente a su alrededor, pero nadie se atrevía a decir ni hostias.
En eso, pasó el gato relamiéndose y con huellas de plumas en la boca.
Abuelo agarró el machete que siempre tenía afilado para sus faenas esporádicas de la finca.
Parecía que el diablo se le había metido en el cuerpo. Con una agilidad increíble a sus años, comenzó a torear (¿gatear?), hasta que agarro al felino y lo dividió en dos con el machete.

Arístides y las cucharas: (Primo hermano de mamá)
Arístides Domínguez, tenía a su esposa Nohelia Funes parida; ellos vivían en una casa muy bonita en el centro del pueblo. Había un patio central, y en el mismo medio de dicho patio estaba ubicado el pozo del cual se abastecían de agua para todo en la casa.
Como era obvio, Nohelia necesitaba mucha agua para los trajines de una recién parida: Lavar pañales, higienizar la casa, cocinar…pero en su estado, necesitaba que su esposo la ayudara sacando el líquido con el cubo y la soga halando con la rondana.
Desde bien temprano ella comenzó: “Arístides, no tengo agua”, él le contestaba con su habitual calma:”ya voy mujer”.
La misma demanda se repitió varias veces, obteniendo ella la misma respuesta.
Al medio día él se encontraba enfrascado en sus asuntos, y ella repetía sin cesar su petición.
Era de todos conocido que el señor se mandaba tremendo genio, ella mejor que nadie lo sabía, pero no tenía alternativa.
Por enésima vez le suplicó: ¿cuándo me vas a cargar el agua?
Arístides agarró el cubo, lo metió en el pozo, con otro cubo comenzó a llenar cuanta vasija Nohelia tenía en la casa. Cuando hubo de llenarlas todas, hasta las tacitas de café, agarro todas las cucharas, las puso boca arriba y las fue llenando una a una. Entre tanto. Nohelia le suplicaba llorando: “por favor, ya no empapes más la casa”.
Él sólo decía: ¿“no quieres agua?. Pues toma, hasta en las cucharas, para que no te
quejes más.

“Victoria y el boniato”
Ese día mamá había cocinado un sabroso pescado en salsa, acompañado de boniatos hervidos.
Como éramos once, ella servía directamente en cada plato una ración lo más pareja posible de la proteína, para que nadie le diera la mala a quien tuviera al lado.
Toya comenzó a atragantarse el pescado sin esperar que le sirvieran el resto. Inmediatamente los ojos se le agrandaron y por señas se hacía entender: tenía una espina clavada en el gaznate.
Mamá corrió y le daba trozos de boniato. Ella tragaba, pero la espina seguía ahí.
Cuando mi hermano Chichito vio que la fuente de viandas bajaba y…nada, le dijo a mamá con mucha exigencia:
“Pero mamá, hasta cuándo, se van a acabar los boniatos”.
Mi madre tuvo que llevar a Toya al médico, pero antes le propinó tremendo cuerazo a Chichito.

“Chichito robando…”
A mi hermano Chichito lo enloquecían los boniatos en cualquier modo que mamá los cocinara: asados fritos, hervidos, en dulce…, para él no había tregua cuando de esa dulce vianda se trataba.
Un día mamá cocinó una gran cazuela, los sacó para que se enfriaran y los puso en una gran fuente a la orilla del fogón de leña, que se encontraba ubicado cerca de una pared hecha de yaguas. Chichito pasó y le echó el ojo al bulto, se le hizo la boca agua. Acto seguido fue por detrás de la pared, abrió un hueco entre las yaguas y poco a poco se iba robando los trozos. Cuando mi madre fue a bajar de la candela el resto del almuerzo…, ya casi se habían extinguido los susodichos boniatos.
Me acuerdo como si lo estuviera viviendo. Estábamos sentados en la gran mesa de la cocina, ella se demoraba para servirnos, estaba como absorta en un pensamiento, y nosotros esperando.
De pronto unos gritos y ella restregando algo entre las brazas.
Había agarrado la mano del ladrón.
Así era como ella educaba en cuestiones de principio éticos. Después le curó la quemadura sin decirle ni esta boca es mía. Y nosotros aguantando la risa. Él, que yo recuerde, nunca más robó comida.

All these years, where has Canada been?

The immolation for the freedom of Cuba by the prisoner of conscience Orlando Zapata reveals, once again, the intrinsic evil of the Castro dictatorship. Hundreds of thousands of men, women and children have encountered their deaths at the hands of the regime’s repressive apparatus throughout 5 decades of communist nightmare. Several generations of Cubans have never enjoyed the most basic rights and freedoms. Nevertheless, the utter contempt toward human life by the Castro brothers has not been able to silence the voices of those who, like Orlando, prefer the physical death to the spiritual death.

The world must know that the expressions of affliction by Raúl Castro are false. In fact, the only thing that he may laments is that the tragic outcome of Orlando’s hunger strike arrived while he hosted Brazilian president Lula. So he had no choice but to face the entourage of journalists that normally accompany democratically elected presidents during foreign trips. Equally ridiculous was the image of this power usurper, mingling and shaking hands with legitimate presidents at the Summit of the Grupo de Rio, held in Mexico. By representing Cuba, Castro mocked not only the entire Cuban nation, but also the good spirit and seriousness of a summit that is pleased to welcome a satrap as one of theirs.

What Cubans want, and the world must unequivocally support, is freedom. To what extent are condolences and demands of change by Canada’s head of foreign affairs of any practical use for the oppressed Cuban people? Actually, they do not serve much when our trade, investments, tourism and political ties are one of the main factors allowing the continuation of this prolonged tragedy. The rationale behind the principled stand against the military junta in Burma versus the complicity toward the Castro brothers tyranny in the heart of the Americas, points to a twisted sense of independence associated with the decision to oppose the American policy of embargo.

A false nationalism expressed in an anti-American foreign policy, undermined the good character of Canada when it decided to accept the Cuban revolution in the first place. Today, 51 years later, Cuba’s civil society and members of the opposition movement find it hard to look up to Canada as a friend. Admittedly, the reason why many Canadians enjoy vacationing on the island of Cuba is because “ there are no Americans down there”.

It’s high time for Canada to fulfill the protagonist role it is supposed to play. Our government and the politicians who represent to us, are in the obligation to ally themselves with the people of Cuba and to take distance from the oppressive dictatorship. What’s the point in having so many “experts” in Latin American studies and publicly funded institutions focused on hemispheric affairs, when our parliamentarians are not able to publicly mention the names (let alone expressing solidarity) of so many prisoners of conscience? At this very hour, brave men and women write pages of honour that inspire not only fellow Cubans, but also the best of humankind.

How much cynicism enclosed in associations such as Canada-Cuba Parliamentary Friendship Group! Will it be possible that those members of the Canadian parliament do not understand that, in their anti-Yankee paroxysm, they are calling themselves “friends” of a Cuba that cannot choose its representatives? They have to understand at once that their actions don’t make them friends, but enemies of Cuba. Because it is pure hallucination and self-deception to believe that a bunch of criminals who usurped power 51 years ago, could ever represent the aspirations of 11 million Cubans stranded in Cuba and over a million who managed to make it into exile.

The day will come in which, in a free Cuba, future generations will know of the dignity of the Czechs and the solidarity of the Poles when it was needed the most. In an event without precedents in recent parliamentary history, 90 Polish legislators, affiliated to the two main political parties, put their differences aside to adopt, symbolically, 90 Cuban political prisoners. Those are indeed the friends of Cuba and their gesture will not be forgotten.

Over a century ago, Cuban national hero José Martí, as Orlando Zapata now, gave his life for Cuba’s freedom at the age of 42. He very well expressed:
“There are men who live contented though they live without decorum. Others suffer as if in agony when they see around them people living without decorum. There must be a certain amount of decorum in the world, just as there must be a certain amount of light. When there are many men without decorum, there are always others who themselves possess the decorum of many men. These are the ones who rebel with terrible strength against those who rob nations of their liberty, which is to rob men of their decorum. Embodied in those men are thousands of men, a whole people, human dignity.”

Our eternal gratitude goes today to the men and women who have sacrificed their lives for the freedom of Cuba.

¿Todo este tiempo, dónde ha estado Canadá?

El sacrificio del prisionero de conciencia Orlando Zapata por la libertad de Cuba nos muestra, una vez más, la maldad intrínseca de la dictadura castrista. Cientos de miles de hombres, mujeres y niños han encontrado la muerte a través de estas 5 décadas de pesadilla comunista. Varias generaciones de cubanos jamás han experimentado la libertad de expresión. Sin embargo, el desprecio por la vida humana de los hermanos Castro, no ha podido acallar las voces de aquellos que, como Orlando, prefieren la muerte física a la muerte espiritual.

El mundo debe saber que las expresiones de aflicción de Raúl Castro son falsas. De hecho, lo único que lamenta el general sin batallas, es que el trágico desenlace de Orlando haya llegado en momentos en que, abordado por periodistas brasileños, servía de anfitrión al presidente Lula. Igualmente ridícula era la imagen del heredero en jefe, vestido de civil y mezclado entre presidentes democráticamente electos en la Cumbre del Grupo de Río, celebrada en México. De este modo pisoteba no solo el nombre de Cuba, sino también la razón de ser de una cumbre que se complace en recibir a un sátrapa como uno de los suyos.

Lo que los cubanos desean, y el mundo debe tenerlo bien claro, es libertad. ¿De qué sirven declaraciones de pesar y las demandas de cambio provenientes de las cancillerías del mundo libre? No sirven de mucho cuando en la práctica siguen negociando con la dictadura y condenando el “embargo” estadounidense. En honor a los caídos y los que están por caer, es hora de poner a un lado el antiamericanismo intestino que socava el buen carácter de pueblos libres.

Ha llegado la hora de que Canadá cumpla el rol protagonista que debe cumplir. Nuestro gobierno y los políticos que nos representan, están en la obligación de aliarse al pueblo de Cuba y tomar distancia de la dictadura que lo oprime. ¿De qué sirven tantos “expertos” en asuntos iberoamericanos e instituciones de estudios latinoamericanos financiadas por los contribuyentes canadienses, cuando nuestros parlamentarios no son capaces de pronunciarse públicamente por siquiera uno de los tantos prisioneros de conciencia, que ahora mismo escriben páginas de decoro en las cárceles cubanas? ¡Cuánto cinismo encierran asociaciones tales como Grupo Parlamentario de Amistad Canada-Cuba! ¿Será posible que esos miembors electos del parlamento canadiense no entiendan que, en su paroxismo antiyanqui, están llamandose a si mismos “amigos” de una Cuba que no puede elegir a sus representantes? Entiendan de una vez y por todas que ustedes no son amigos, sino enemigos de Cuba.

El día llegará en que, en una Cuba libre, futuras generaciones sabrán de la dignidad de los checos y la solidaridad de los polacos cuando más se les necesitaba. En un hecho sin precedentes en ningún parlamento del mundo, 90 legisladores polacos afiliados a los dos principales partidos políticos se unieron para adoptar, simbólicamente, a 90 prisioneros políticos cubanos. Esos sí son nuestros amigos, y su gesto no lo olvidaremos.

Tal y como dijera José Martí, quien como Orlando Zapata entregó su vida por la libertad de Cuba a los 42 años de edad, “hay hombres que viven contentos aunque vivan sin decoro. Hay otros que padecen como en agonía cuando ven que los hombres viven sin decoro a su alrededor. En el mundo ha de haber cierta cantidad de decoro, como ha de haber cierta cantidad de luz. Cuando hay muchos hombres sin decoro hay siempre otros que tienen en sí el decoro de muchos hombres. Esos son los que se rebelan con fuerza terrible contra los que les roban a los pueblos su libertad, que es robarles a los hombres su decoro. En esos hombres van miles de hombres, va un pueblo entero, va la dignidad humana.”

Vaya hoy nuestra gratititud eterna a los hombres que han sacrificado sus vidas por la libertad de Cuba.

A 2 semanas del concierto de Juanes

Contrariamente a los que expresan una repentina empatía por los cubanos, no se trata de negarle al pueblo la oportunidad de disfrutar un concierto específico. En nuestro pasado "revolucionario", siempre han habido brechas por las que se han filtrado luminarias de la música, brindadonos su arte a pesar del "bloqueo". Tales fueron los casos de Oscar de León, Alberto Cortez, Joan Manuel Serrat, Mocedades, Los Mustang y otros.

La pregunta obligada sería: ¿es este un concierto por la paz? Juanes se autoimpuso una camisa de fuerza al tildar su concierto Paz sin Fronteras, demostrando así su arrogante ignorancia de lo que sucede en Cuba, un país donde la única guerra que acontece cada minuto es la de la dictadura en contra de todo el pueblo.

¿Irá entonces Juanes a clamar por la libertad de los cientos de prisioneros de conciencia? ¿Pedirá por el excarcelamiento inmediato de los doctores Oscar Biscet o Darsi Ferrer? ¿Le cantará a la libertad de Pánfilo, el aguerrido borracho de youtube que acaba de ser sancionado bajo la figura Orwelliana de "peligrosidad predelictiva" por simplemente decir que hay hambre en la isla?

Todo aquel que conoce Cuba sabe que el gobierno es el único logísticamente dotado y legalmente autorizado a organizar este tipo de concierto multitudinario. Solo "las autoridades competentes" (entendiéndose como tal al ministerio de cultura, la PNR, el ICAP, etc.) pueden darse el lujo de aglutinar a cientos de miles en la llamada Plaza de la Revolución. Por consiguiente, es impensable que Juanes reuna el coraje de clamar por la libertad de los cubanos, que es de hecho toda la paz que necesita nuestro pueblo.

Aun cuando jamás haya tropezado con una sola de sus famosas canciones, y si el concierto fuera solo eso, un concierto, entonces lo apoyaría. Pero el que compre pescado, que no le tema luego a los ojos cuando entre a la pescadería.

Nadie más que el propio cantante se encargó de politizar el evento.

Open letter to Queen's University

Dear Catherine Krull,

Almost two weeks after Queen’s University hosted “The Measure of a Revolution. Cuba, 1959-2009”, I am addressing you on my double condition of Cuban native and Canadian citizen.

As a Cuban, I have to say that I was appalled to see how a reputable institution like Queen’s University had no problem organizing a totally one-sided event that was supposed to be of an academic nature. It was indeed embarrassing to lend a precinct that symbolizes debate, openness and free speech to host an event promoting a “revolution” that have made oppression and poverty the trademarks of an island formerly known as The Pearl of the Antilles.

As a Canadian, I feel shocked to know that our federal government sponsored a “cultural and academic” festivity that welcomed the victimizers while bypassing the chance to have the victims (the people of Cuba) express their understanding of the Measure of a Revolution.

When Canadian faculties like yours at Queen’s University do not understand their role in molding future generations of citizens in the virtue of truth, the way to the destruction of liberty and democracy is paved. If our future politicians, bureaucrats and opinion makers are not taught to be fair and dig the facts out of a manufactured and propagandized surface (i.e. communism) then our entire society will be jeopardized by the empire of cynicism and moral relativism.

I would like to suggest to you and to the faculty at Queen’s University to organize a follow up event in which members of Cuba’s courageous and forgotten civil society are invited to expose their side of the story. That story will surely give students and scholars at Queen’s the hidden facts of the so-called achievements of the revolution (health care and education) while teaching us all not to take our freedoms for granted. Because they are willing to pay the highest price for speaking their minds, Queen’s University owes them the chance to be heard.

Del teatro stalinista al castrista

Dos de los hijos predilectos de Papá lobo la semana pasada fueron removidos de sus cimeras posiciones gubernamentales en La Habana. Algo muy normal, de ello no hay que asombrarse, si tenemos en cuenta los defectos sintomáticos que han marcado y caracterizado de por siempre a las dictaduras: las sospechas, la desconfianza personalizada hacia los individuos, las purgas y la demoralización que adquiere, dentro de este engorroso contexto, un rostro prácticamente generalizado.

Tanto Felipe Pérez Roque como Carlos Lage, luego de ser echados de sus cargos, al presentar sus cartas de renuncias asumieron totalmente sus responsabilidades por los supuestos ”imperdonables errores” que se les están imputando, además manifestaron la plena subordinación (la total adhesión de ambos) a Fidel, a Raúl, al partido comunista y, por redundancia, a la “revolución”.

Esta dramática escena teatral del Castrismo no es nueva. También el general Arnaldo Ochoa Sánchez hizo algo muy similar cuando fue enjuiciado, con maquiavélica arbitrariedad, y acusado de alta traición a su país en el año 1989.

En aquella ocasión, ante el tribunal militar que lo juzgaba, Ochoa fue obligado a decir, más o menos, cosas como éstas: la revolución me lo ha dado todo, un tratamiento excelente, no tengo nada que alegar en contra de todo esto. Lo que se ha dicho sobre mí se ajusta exactamente a la verdad, me he degradado a lo máximo y donde quiera que me pare asumiré una actitud de desprecio hacia mi persona por lo que hice…

Las tiranías llevan a los individuos (entiéndase a los pueblos) a perder su autoestima. Es tan fuerte la presión psicológica y las amenazas que ejercen los caudillos sobre las masas que éstas terminan doblando la cerviz y humillándose por el terror y el desconcierto.

A pesar de que Ochoa asumió enteramente su total responsabilidad en el escándalo del tráfico de drogas que se producía en aquellos tiempos a través de la isla por la base aérea de Santa Clara (sin el supuesto conocimiento, ni la aprobación, de Fidel ni de Raúl) el entonces general de división y héroe de la república de Cuba, no pudo evitar ser fusilado junto a otros oficiales como el coronel Antonio de la Guardia, Amado Padrón y Jorge Martínez Valdés.

Las purgas del Castrismo se han desatado, antes que nada, por la desconfianza del poder contra todos aquellos que han ocupado cargos de relevancia en el gobierno y se han atrevido a emitir sus juicios críticos hacia la máxima autoridad, además porque Fidel nunca ha tolerado que ninguna figura cercana a su persona pueda hacerle sombras al pensar en una hipotética o maniobrada sucesión.

Los atropellos Castristas han tenido muchísima similitud con los que llevara a cabo José Stalin cuando estableció su reino de terror en la ya desaparecida Unión Soviética.

Por ejemplo, en el mismo caso de Nikolai Yezhov, un oscuro personaje que estuvo al frente de la NKVD y fue el promulgador de las grandes oleadas de represiones masivas que se iniciaron contra los máximos generales que comandaban el Ejército Rojo y habían sido simpatizantes de Trotsky, al final de sus días terminó también siendo una víctima de las propias purgas.

El enano sangriento, apodo por el que muchos conocían a Yezhov, finalizó decapitado políticamente nada menos que por el mismo hombre al que había obedecido sirviéndole de una manera perruna y obsesiva.

Resultó que de un momento a otro Stalin, por sus delirios de ver conspiraciones en su contra en todas partes, comenzó a desconfiar y sospechar de su subordinado por lo que decidió suplantarlo con Laurenti Beria al frente de los servicios secretos y de espionaje de la URSS.

Algo más tarde Yezhov, sin ninguna prueba de deslealtad que lo incriminara, sería juzgado humillantemente para luego ser puesto ante un pelotón de fusilamiento.

Volviendo ahora los pasos sobre la realidad cubana tengo que decir que la ejecución del general Arnaldo Ochoa quizás deba entenderse como el principio del fin para la dictadura de los hermanos Castro.

Hay que estar claro que un hecho de tal magnitud constituyó la desmoralización sin precedentes de un régimen que nunca se ha cansado de vociferar por las claras: el que se atreva a criticar, el que se oponga a la dirección histórica de la “revolución” cubana puede pagar por ello incluso con la vida.

Desde entonces, a partir del Ochoacidio, ya no quedó nada objetivamente enraizado de aquellos lemas de supuesta concientización ideológica ni de un genuino, fidedigno, apoyo entre las masas.
Tal vez, como nunca antes, miles de cubanos quedaron convencidos de que para sumarse a la bachata de los Castro había que aprender a bailar con un solo pie, que las sonrisas efímeras,
junto a ellas también los disimulos, son válidas cartas de salvación dentro de esa comarca de un poseído y falso Dios terrenal que comulga con el odio, las ambiciones sin fronteras y la falta total de decoro.

Si fuéramos capaces de ojear, de pasar nuestras vistas sobre las páginas de los textos históricos contemporáneos podríamos observar la continuidad, la gran cercanía, en cuanto a métodos, objetivos y teatralización del discurso político, entre el sangriento circo rojo Stalinista y el desfachatado pillaje de los hermanos Castro en La Habana.

La aislada y férrea “revolución” cubana desde hace mucho tiempo ya no engaña a nadie por su falta de sanos principios, solamente aquellos ciegos o miembros de una izquierda internacional que aún disfrutan de sus cantos de sirena, y por ciertas dádivas, pueden seguir aparentando que creen en sus febriles e incendiarios caprichos.

Estamos ante la reconstrucción moderna de aquel antiguo circo romano donde su infalible, “impostergable César”, sólo les permitía acercarse a su trono a aquellos que, por sumisión o sórdidos intereses, solían decirle que se consideraban sus propiedades obedientes de un alcance inmediato.

Acabo de leer en el diario El País de España que, según una carta del ex general Patricio de la Guardia, hermano gemelo del coronel Antonio, quien fuera fusilado junto a Ochoa en 1989, Fidel Castro conocía todos los detalles sobre los embarques y el tráfico de drogas que los miembros del departamento MC realizaban por Cuba. Esto era de suponerse porque no hubo en el pasado, ni existe hoy ningún acontecimiento que pueda darse sobre la isla, del cual los hermanos Castro no estén debidamente informados. Muchos menos cuando se trate de algo estrechamente vinculado con la seguridad de su militarizado e inexpugnable olimpo.

The Palestinization of Cuba

We have grown accustomed to listen throughout the years that the pacification of the Middle East will not happen so long the Palestinian problem isn’t solved. So many times has it been repeated by leaders and political analysts that, eventually, we give it for granted.

Take, for instance, the cause-effect between refusing to evacuate a Jewish settlement in Samaria and the hanging of gays in Teheran. No matter how hard we, the people, work in trying to connect the dots, they, the intelligentsia, see the link crystal clear.

It might seem that the same kind of academic-political lucidity has come to create certain adages, as it starts to be the case with the so-called “full integration of Cuba to the regional institutions”. According to Nelson Jobim, the Brazilian minister of defence, “for the US to attain good relationship with South America...it is important that it changes its policy toward Cuba”. The former was stated on March 9, as the South American Defence Council (SADC) gathered in Santiago de Chile. Mr. Jobim continued as saying: “it’s a premise for the US to have a representation at SADC, to change its stand toward Cuba”. It’s quite suspicious why would he even bother to condition the US presence in a regional body that, semantically, excludes any non-South American nation.

The ministers of Argentina, Chile, Bolivia and Uruguay expressed themselves in similar terms. They all made references to the necessity of ending the ‘discriminatory and unfair blockade, the isolation and cold war mentality’ from the US toward Castro’s Cuba. The Uruguayan emphasised that “today, Cuba does not represent a problem for the security of the US at all, and the US policy to Cuba is determined by a Cuban-American ‘lobby’ rather than a cool-headed analysis of the facts that determine the relationships between the two countries”. Well, I guess he hasn’t been informed that in September 2001, Ana Belen Montes, the most Senior Cuba analyst at the Defence Intelligence Agency (DIA) in the United States, was arrested for espionage. Montes, who spied for Castro since the early 80’s, is deemed responsible for, at least, the death of one American officer. According to Wikipedia, “prosecutors stated that Montes had been privy to classified information about the U.S. military's impending invasion of Afghanistan in October 2001, and that they did not want her revealing this information to potential enemies”.

Perhaps the Uruguayan minister should also be told that Montes participated in the confection of an official 1998 report, which caused the Clinton administration to conclude that ‘Cuba is no longer a significant military threat to the United States or the region’. Have we heard that before? I would call it a rather interesting coincidence in the selection of the wording. So much for a “misinformed” high ranking member of SADC. Hence, we have witnessed the consolidation of a new term that I have defined as the Palestinization of Cuba, which is the politically manufactured linkage between unrelated phenomena. It also implies that the new US administration should look at Raul Castro as a legitimate partner, rather than an international criminal handpicked as a successor by a known tyrant and power usurper.

Maybe the Latin-American dignitaries in pilgrimage to Havana to bid farewell to the spiritual leader of the left and legitimize Raul Castro - while ignoring dissidents and denying a single act of recognition to Cuban prisoners of conscience - should, once and for all, heed the allegations made by the “worms nest” (as Castro refers to the exile community) of Miami. There is a non-stop display in the Florida’s Spanish speaking TV stations of former Cuban agents who keep naming dozens of infiltrated in North American institutions, mostly universities and academic related. It is estimated that hundreds of Castro’s spies are disseminated not only in North America, but also in South and Central America, as well as Europe.

Just last week, Lt. Colonel Juan Reynaldo Sanchez has started to provide first-hand account of the deeply corrupt nature of Fidel Castro, whom he served as a bodyguard for 17 years. Following orders of Castro himself, Sanchez took note of the daily incidence of covert operations such as narcotraffic and arms smuggling. Fidel Castro, according to Sanchez, personally led every aspect of this international ring that has brought so much bloodshed and regional instability.

The former bodyguard told stories of shipments of diamonds sent from Angola to Fidel Castro, where Cuban troops were sent to die in the name of “proletarian internationalism”. But one of the most outrageous allegations was the dictator’s habit of making his cows marked with nametags. That is done in order to match animals with the members of his extended family, because of the variance in milk fat content and taste. The sad part of this more or less funny story is that Cubans aren’t entitled to purchase milk once they turn 7 years of age. Only those with access to remittance can afford to put milk on the breakfast table of their school children.

Nevertheless, a chamber choir, integrated (for the moment) by the elite voices of “erudite” in Cuban affairs and leftie politicians plus the back up voices of some absent-minded fellows (also known as useful idiots), is starting to produce the new symphony of change. This Castro-Chavist trick pursues cornering the Obama administration in a position with no alternative other than obeying the concerted voices of academics and representatives of the mob democracies of Latin America, lest it ends up as a regional pariah. After all, that seems to fit the change-we-can-believe-in doctrine.

It is interesting though that Cuba, which as the U.S. is not geographically located in South America, comes out as a gambit piece by the South American Defence Council. In this same context, it is even more remarkable the Brazilian minister’s statement regarding the entry of Russia as an observer: “not for now...the Russians are too far away, some others are closer”.

Are we witnessing the rebirth of the Warsaw Pact, this time around made up of Bolivarian democracies? Who knows, perhaps one day we wake up to find out that a new South American Defence Council is being integrated by the likes of Castro, Chavez, Ortega, Putin and Khamenei!
For now, we just know with certainty that the Castro mafia, like Hamas in Gaza, is interested neither in chamber music nor in transition toward democracy, but only in absolute power. Meanwhile, he lets the world organize peace concerts in exchange for financial credit and political legitimacy.

La Palestinización de Cuba

Nos hemos acostumbrado a escuchar, a través de los años, que la pacificación del Medio Oriente no sucederá mientras no se resuelva el problema de Palestina. Tantas veces ha sido repetido por líderes y analistas políticos que, en ocasiones, sin apenas reparar en la falta de vínculo entre la evacuación de un asentamiento judío en Samaria y la ejecución de un gay en Teherán, lo damos por sentado.

Pareciera que una especie de conspiración académico-política llevara a la creación de determinados adagios. Ese empieza a ser el caso de la llamada “plena integración de Cuba a las instituciones regionales”. Según Nelson Jobim, ministro de defensa brasileño, “un punto fundamental para que los Estados Unidos tengan una buena relación con Sudamérica ... es importante que cambie (su) política con Cuba”. Lo anterior fue planteado el 9 de marzo pasado durante la reunión en Santiago de Chile del Consejo de Defensa Suramericano (CDS). El susodicho ministro continuó diciendo: “su condición de cambio en la relación con Cuba es condición para una representación de Estados Unidos con América del Sur”. Disculpe por pensar que el propio nombre del CDS excluía a naciones fuera de Sudamérica.

En términos similares se referían los ministros de Argentina, Chile, Bolivia y Uruguay. Todos se refirieron a la necesidad de terminar con ‘el discriminatorio e injusto bloqueo, el aislamiento y la mentalidad de guerra fría’ por parte de Estados Unidos hacia la Cuba de Castro. El uruguayo llegó a decir que “hoy no refleja absolutamente ningún problema de seguridad para los Estados Unidos, y la política de Estados Unidos respecto a Cuba está más determinada por un 'lobby' de presión interno cubano-norteamericano que por lo que sea el análisis frío de la realidad de los fenómenos que se pueden relacionar entre dos países”. Probablemente nuestro querido ministro uruguayo se encontraba vacacionando en Punta del Este cuando, en septiembre de 2001, Ana Belén Montes, la analista de inteligencia sobre Cuba de más alto rango en el Pentágono, fuera detenida por espionaje. Montes espió para Castro de principios de los 80 y se le atribuye la muerte de, al menos, un oficial estadounidense. Su arresto se produjo previo al ataque a Afganistán, por temor a que revelara datos confidenciales a las fuerzas anti-americanas.

Quizás nuestro amigo uruguayo debiera saber que, además de lo anterior, Montes participó en la elaboración del documento mediante el cual la administración Clinton determinó, en 1998, que la Cuba de Castro ya no representaba una amenaza para Estados Unidos o la región. ¡Interesante coincidencia! Tal vez nuestros “hermanos latinoamericanos”, los mismos que se niegan a reconocer la existencia de prisioneros de conciencia en Cuba y terminan haciendo pucheros ante El Comandante (mientras ignoran a la disidencia interna) debieran, de una vez y por todas, prestarle algo de atención a las alegaciones de “la gusanera” de Miami. Por los canales hispanos de televisión de la Florida desfilan innumerables ex agentes que no han cesado nunca de nombrar a decenas de infiltrados en todas las intituciones norteamericanas, sobre todo en las universidades e instituciones académicas. Se estiman en cientos los espías, diseminados no solo por Norteamérica, sino también por Centro y Sudamérica, así como Europa.

No obstante, el coro de cámara, integrado (por ahora) por las voces principales de eruditos en Cuba y políticos con tendencias izquierdoides y las voces secundarias de algún que otro entretenido, comienzan a entonar la nueva sinfonía del cambio. Esta treta Castro-Chavista persigue poner a la adminstración de Obama en una posición de paria regional, al cual no le quedaría otra alternativa que escuchar y por cansancio obedecer las voces concertadas de académicos y representantes de las democracias de tumulto (como las acuñara un amigo recientemente) de América Latina.

Lo interesante del caso es que Cuba, que no está situada geográficamente en Sudamérica, salga a colación como posible pieza de canje en un organismo que, por definición, comprende exclusivamente a las naciones sudamericanas. Para mayor sorpresa, el ministro brasileño espeta con relación a la entrada de Rusia como observador: “por ahora no ... los rusos están muy lejos, hay otras personas más cerca”. ¿Estaremos asistiendo al renacer del Pacto de Varsovia, esta vez integrado por las flamantes democracias de tumulto? Quién sabe si un día nos despertáramos (parafraseando al comandante) ante la sorpresa de un Consejo de Defensa Suramericano integrado por los Castros, los Putin y los Ayatolas.

Por ahora, lo único que sabemos con certeza, es que la mafia castrista, tal y como Hamas en Gaza, no está interesado ni en la música de cámara ni en la real transición hacia la democracia, sino en dejar que el mundo organice conciertos de paz que le otorguen crédito (político y monetario) y la posibilidad de continuar la legitimización de su poder absoluto.

In February’s 26, 2009 edition of Miami Herald (Spanish version) it is published: US recommended seeking ‘constructive engagement’ with Cuba. It seems that, once more, bureaucrats will ignore the mistakes of the recent past.

It could be prudent to ask: has it ever, somewhere, such policy of constructive engagement worked?

Constructive engagement is being implemented as an official policy between Canada and Cuba for over 15 years now. What has it been obtained with this endeavour, so much liked and brandished by academics? To answer briefly: 800 thousand Canadian tourists per year, billions of dollars in investments, and hundreds of millions in annual sales from Cuba to Canada (which is Cuba’s second import partner). In exchange for all these “achievements”, the Castro mafia implemented the crackdown on dissidents during the infamous Black Spring of 2003 and all sorts of human rights violations.

For those naive enough to believe that such policy will make the Castros change, I would ask:

Since when is a tourist interested in debating about politics?
What in this world would an American say to a "blind Cuban" that hasn’t been already said by a Canadian tourist? That blind Cuban, by the way, is forbidden by law to interact with foreigners.

We know what these millions of “agents of change” are searching for when they overflow Cuban beaches every year. They go for cheap sex and all-inclusive bargains.

Totalitarian (communist) regimes are by nature unaccountable, secretive and controlling. In a transaction with a free and open society, they have nothing to offer and everything to obtain. It has been recently known that Sherritt and Pebercan, 2 Canadian based multinationals, are being hit with the club of doing business with the Castro brothers, who now declared themselves unable to fulfill their financial commitments with the Canadians. Why would American companies receive a different treatment when the only barrier left (access to credits) with the so-called embargo is lifted?

Eventually, as always, the Cuban people will continue being ignored and trying to escape the tropical hell, because there can never be a constructive dialogue between cancer and chemotherapy.

Ese piano tiene comején

En la edición del 26 de febrero de 2009, el Nuevo Herald de Miami publica: “Recomiendan a EEUU buscar 'acuerdo constructivo' con Cuba”. Pareciera que, una vez más, los burócratas ignoran los errores del pasado reciente.

Cabría preguntarse: ¿acaso ha funcionado alguna vez, en algún lugar, el acuerdo constructivo?

El acuerdo constructivo (o constructive engagement) lleva 15 años de implementado entre Canadá y Cuba. ¿Qué se ha logrado con este empeño tan llevado y traído por los "académicos"? Respuesta breve: 800 mil turistas canadienses al año, miles de millones de dólares en inversión y cientos de millones en ventas anuales a Canadá (el 2do importador más importante de Cuba). A cambio de todos esos "logros", la mafia castrista implementó la barrida de la primavera negra y todas las barbaridades que conocemos.

A los ingenuos que crean que tal política cambiaría a los Castro, les preguntaría:

¿Desde cuándo un turista se interesa por debatir sobre política?
¿Qué iría a decirle un americano as ese “cubanito ciego” que ya no habría dicho un turista canadiense? A ese cieguito cubano, a propósito, se le impide legalmente interactuar con extranjeros.

Sabemos lo que buscan los millones de "agentes de cambio" que inundan las playas cubanas cada año. Como imagina: sexo barato y las gangas del todo incluido.

Los regímenes totalitarios (comunistas) por naturaleza propia no rinden cuentas a nadie, custodian herméticamente sus secretos y controlan cada detalle hasta la saciedad. En sus transacciones con sociedades abiertas y libres, tienen mucho ganar y nada que ofrecer a cambio. Como ha sido recientemente anunciado, Sherritt International y Pebercan, 2 multinacionales basadas en Canadá, han sido golpeadas con el palo reservado a los que negocian con los hermanos Castro, quienes ahora se han declarado incapaces de cumplimentar sus compromisos de pago. Una vez que se levante el último vestigio del llamado embargo (el acceso a créditos), ¿por qué razón las compañías americanas habrían de recibir un trato distinto?

Al final, como siempre, el pueblo de Cuba seguirá ignorado y tratando de escapar del infierno tropical, porque no puede haber un diálogo constructivo entre el cáncer y la quimioterapia.

“Another 10 reasons why Gitmo should be given to Raul”

With these lines, it is not my intention to praise George Bush. I have done so sufficiently in the past 8 years. I would just remind that is the absence of his leadership and staunch commitment to his people (obviously, Hollywood and Europe won’t qualify as such) the reason why it is now being discussed the fate of 245 terrorists at the Guantanamo naval base.After reading Chuck Norris’ “Top 10 reasons why Gitmo should be on Alcatraz”, I have arrived to the conclusion, with due respect to the admired karate man, that there are 10 better reasons to give it to Raul Castro. Here is my proposal: “Another 10 reasons why Gitmo should be given to Raul”.

Since Omaba seems determined to establish a dialogue with the enemies of USA, he may start by doing so with those who, for the past 50 years, have been subverting the international order and fooling the unwary with the “achievements of communism”, barely 90 miles away from Florida. Namely: the Castro mafia.
In exchange for transferring these 245 inmates to Raul Castro, the Guantanamo naval base, the only place in Cuba where iguanas aren’t at risk of extinction (except for the year in which 30 thousand of my fellow country men and women were retained at the premise by Clinton) would be returned to the Cuban state. As a consequence, millions of dollars will be saved to the American taxpayer, who is in agony as we speak about the so-called economic stimulus package.
Since Cuba has already been a sanctuary for international terrorists and fugitives over the last 50 years, why not let the 245 Taliban and al Qaeda members be part of the long list of black panthers, macheteros, tupamaros, Quebec and Basque separatists, Colombian narco-guerrillas, PLO, Chilean FPMR, montoneros and swindlers of all sorts that have found shelter in the Caribbean island.
These guys will be so preoccupied in solving the 3 basic Cuban problems: breakfast, lunch and dinner, that little energy and time will be spared for them to plan terrorist attacks once they are presented with the “Cuban menu”, better known as the ration card.
Once accustomed to life under communism and seeing that Cuban women won’t volunteer to be part of the harem of 72 virgins waiting for them in heaven, they will be forced to further integrate and forget their sissy-like hand touch, as popular in the Muslim world as disliked among Cubans.
The nostalgia for the “old times at the base” and the appreciation of the free practice of religion, sacred in the free world and non-existing in the atheist state of Cuba, will make them reconsider their intentions to obliterate people who, after all and in spite of being Judaeo-Christian infidels, allowed them to pray 5 times a day.
The obligation to replace Koran for the Communist Manifesto, the 5 prayers pointing to Mecca and the sacred chant of “Allah is the Greatest” for the new one “Socialism or Death”, will take them to such a severe state of depression, that they will find no solution other than committing suicide or joining the opposition to the regime.
Once enlisted with the internal opposition movement, they will cease to attract the attention of Cindy Sheehan and the rest of the international left, who are known to exclusively care about the constitutional rights of the enemies of liberty. As a by-product, the people of Cuba will be released of the disgusting presence of Michael Moore, who won’t be tempted to film the sequel of “Sicko” on the island.
Due to the torments to which these newcomers will be subjected under communism, relations between Cuba and the Muslim world will be seriously harmed, putting an end to decades of cooperation with islamo-fascist entities wreaking havoc on the free world.
Lastly, getting rid of these individuals will save the novice president Obama of key international political capital, by avoiding favours to allies who, despite claiming to be for the closure of the base, aren’t keen to take the hot potatoes home.

If it wasn’t because this is only a joke, that would be an advice to the White House from a neutral Cuban. So much so, that had never even considered voting for Obama, let alone having a dialogue with the Castro mafia.

No es mi intención con estas líneas apologetizar sobre George Bush. Ya lo he hecho suficientemente en los pasados 8 años. Solo recordaría que es la ausencia de su liderazgo e inquebrantable compromiso para con su pueblo (obviamente, Hollywood y Europa no califican en este concepto) la razón por la cual se discute actualmente la suerte de 245 terroristas en la base naval de Guantánamo.
Después de leer el artículo de Chuck Norris titulado “10 Razones fundamentales por las que Gitmo debe pasar a Alcatraz”, he llegado a la conclusión, con la venia de mi admirado karateka, de que existen 10 mejores razones pora transferirlos a Raúl Castro. He aquí mi propuesta: “10 razones para transfer Gitmo a Raúl”.

Ya que Obama es partidario de establecer un diálogo con los enemigos de USA, debiera empezar por la mafia Castrista, que lleva 50 años subvertiendo el orden internacional y confundiendo a incautos con las “bondades del comunismo” a escasas 90 millas de las costas de la Florida.
A condición de transferírsele estos 245 reclusos a Raúl Castro, la base naval de Guantánamo, el único sitio de Cuba donde las iguanas no corren peligro de extinción (con excepción del año en que 30 mil de mis compatriotas fueran retenidos por Clinton en el recinto), sería devuelta al estado cubano, con el consiguiente ahorro al contribuyente americano, que se debate ahora mismo en la agonía del rescate económico.
Ya que Cuba ha sido santuario de terroristas y fugitivos internacionales en los últimos 50 años, qué más da que 245 miembros del talibán y al-Qaeda pasen a engrosar la larga lista de panteras negras, macheteros, tupamaros, separatistas quebecenses y vascos, narcoguerrilleros colombianos, frentistas de Palestina y Chile, montoneros y estafadores de toda índole que han encontrado santuario en la isla caribeña.
Estos sujetos estarían tan preocupados por resolver los 3 problemas básicos de los cubanos: desayuno, almuerzo y comida, que pocas energías y tiempo les quedará para planear ataques terrorirstas una vez que se les haga entrega de la nueva carta de menú, más conocida en Cuba como libreta de racionamiento.
Una vez aplatanados a la vida bajo el comunismo y viendo que las mujeres cubanas no tienen interés en formar parte del harén de 72 vírgenes que les espera en el cielo, se verán obligados a tratar de integrarse a la vida en el trópico y olvidar los jueguitos de manos entre hombres, tan mal vistos en Cuba como comunes en el mundo islámico.
La nostalgia por “los tiempos de la base” y el aprecio al respeto a la práctica de la religión, sagrados en el mundo libre e inexistentes en el estado ateísta cubano, los llevará a recapacitar sobre el sentido de haber pretendido destruir a seres que, después de todo, y a pesar de ser infieles judeo-cristianos, les permitían rezar 5 veces por día.
El tener que sustituir el corán por el manifiesto comunista, los 5 rezos con dirección a la Meca y el lema de “Alá es el más grande” por “Socialismo o Muerte”, los llevará a un estado depresivo tan severo que no encontrarán otro camino que el sucidio o la oposición al régimen.
Al perder estos la atención de Cindy Sheehan y el resto de la izquierda internacional, quienes solo se ocupan de las garantías constitucionales de los enemigos de la libertad, el pueblo de Cuba se vería aliviado de tener que soportar la presencia de Michael Moore en la filmación de la continuación de Sicko.
Debido al tormento a que se verán sometidos estos nuevos residentes en la isla comunista, las relaciones de Cuba con el mundo musulmán se verían seriamente afectadas, dandole fin de este modo a decenios de cooperación con entidades islamo-fascistas que atentan contra la seguridad del mundo libre.
Por último, el desentenderse de estos individuos le ahorrará al neófito presidente Obama cuantioso capital político internacional, al no verse en la necesidad de deberle favores a muchos de sus aliados, que aunque claman por cerrar la base, no quieren tragarse la papa caliente en sus propios territorios.

Si no fuera porque solo es un chiste, este sería un consejo a la Casa Blanca, de parte de un cubano tan neutro, que nunca hubiera votado por Obama y mucho menos proponer un diálogo con la mafia castrista.
